Jay-Z in less than a week reached the platinum level Wednesday with his new album 4:44. The 47-year-old rapper was presented with the platinum certification for selling one million units by Recording Industry Association of America chairman and CEO Cary Sherman.

Jay z is one of the most renown rappers of the history

Jay-Z’s 13th studio album 4:44 however received a lukewarm reception Wednesday from fellow rapper 50 Cent, 41, who found it ‘too smart’.

50 Cent, real name Curtis James Jackson III, took to Instagram to offer his review of the album.

‘I listened to Jay’s s***, that 4:44. I thought the s*** was aight, you know what I’m sayin’? I liked the s***,’ 50 Cent said.

He then shared what he didn’t like about the effort.

‘But I’ma keep it 100. The s*** was a little, the s*** was too smart. I felt like I was supposed to be wearing like glasses and s***, and tie like a f***ing sweater around my waist. It was like Ivy League s***,’ he said.

50 Cent also claimed that Jay-Z could ‘not be the best rapper’ at age 47 because of the young talent in the genre bringing up new material.

He cited Migos as an example and also criticized Jay-Z for coming after Future on his new album.

‘That s*** was like golf course music,’ 50 Cent said laughing as he concluded his critique of 4:44.

ay-Z made 4:44 available only on his streaming service Tidal and it is his 13th solo studio album to reach platinum.

‘Props to Jay, he’s done it again! Another platinum album adds to an already iconic career,’ the RIAA’s Cary said in a statement.

The RIAA changed its measurement system in early 2016 and counts 1,500 song streams off an album as one album sale.
