Sunday night a man named Rutabana Rugaba Benoit was shot dead by RDF after mistakenly confusing him with an enemy intruder. The deadly incident happened in Cyanzarwe sector, in Rubavu district, Western province of Rwanda.
One of the locals called Priscila Nyiraneza told our reporter that Rutabana was shot dead as he entered in the RDF stronghold positioned in Busigari cell. She said that the dead was coming from the DRC.
There is speculations that Mr Rutabana lost his way as he was entering the DRC for unknown motives.
After losing his way towards DRC, he accidently, it is claimed, entered the RDF stronghold thus being shot dead.
Nyiraneza blamed the deadly attempt of late Rutabana to enter the Rwandan border with DRC through unconventional boarder.
Our reporter says that early this morning local civil and security officials held an urgent security meeting to discuss with locals about the incident and assure them full security is guaranteed.
Report from the field assures that the situation on ground returned to normalcy.
