The Rwanda football team Amavubi is ready to battle Nigeria in the opening game of Group C of the Total Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).

This morning the director of sports in Rwanda’s Ministry of sports, Emmanuel Bugingo reminded Amavubi squad that Rwandans wish them good luck ahead of tonight’s game.

After weeks of intensive preparations, the moment of truth has arrived for Amavubi players to face Nigerian Eagles in Group C of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals in Morocco tonight.

This morning Amavubi team had a walk around Tanger beach on a sunny and bright new day in readiness for tonight’s crucial game.

In positive mood, the boys are ready to fight.

During the walk, Sports director in MINISPOC, Emmanuel Bugingo has passed on a message on behalf of Rwandan Minister of Sports Uwacu Julienne.

The message reads:” Rwanda is behind you, and we wish you best of luck.  We believe and trust that you will make Rwanda proud in this tournament. So go out there in the first game and start the mission on a bright note knowing that Rwandans are fully behind you all.”

Amavubi underwent a double training session on Saturday at 6pm (8pm Rwandan time) and another one on Sunday at Stade Grande de Tanger, the venue for today’ game.

Group C today’s fixtures:

  • Equatorial Guinea vs Libya 6:30pm
  • Nigeria vs Rwanda 9:30pm
