This Tuesday Rwandan policemen took a plane heading to CAR to replace other 140 policemen who have been serving a peace keepers in that war thrown country. Early this month, not less than 170 policemen landed in South Sudan for the same mission.
The Rwanda National Police spokesperson CSP Celestin Twahirwa told reporters that the whole contingent is composed of three units, comprised of VIP protective unit, civilians’ protective unit and another unit to protect officials attending different conferences.
CSP Twahirwa added that these units will be strengthening the on ground peace keeping forces that have been operating there.
The Central African Republic endured a lasting war period that killed and displaced many people due to tribal and religious based conflict.
Twahirwa confidently affirmed that this contingent will fulfill its duties professionally as required.
Rwanda deployed a significant number of policemen in different countries such as Haiti, South Sudan, and Central African Republic and in Ivory Coast.
It is ranked number three in the world in deploying peace keeping forces in the world.
