The 12th baby gorilla naming ceremony is meant to be held in Musanze in the coming month. This year’s theme is labeled ‘conservation for life’. The aim is to identify them and keep them safe in their respective living environments.
The ceremony will feature different activities aimed at safeguarding eco systems and biodiversity. Activities will also include an exhibition on conservation and it will take place for the first time in Africa
The Rwanda Development Board aims at attracting more tourists during the event and five hundred people are expected to attend it.
The Manager of RDB in charge of conservation on biodiversity Kalisa Belise underlines that the aim is to increase the awareness of the public on the usefulness of nature conservation.
She highlighted the economic inputs that tourism brings in national treasury, revealing that the sector has generated $ 304 million in 2014 while it increased to $318 million in 2015.
RDB is currently working closely with media professionals as to help the general public learn about its policies and, therefore, understand the usefulness of undertaking touristic endeavors.
