Rwanda open Day 2 with the win over Burkina Faso at the 2013 AfroBasket. Rwanda started the campaign with an 80:61 victory.
Both teams started with 17 points each and then Burkina Faso surprised the opponents with a 21-15 rally. Rwanda needed however a strong second half to seal the victory.
They won the third period 22-9 and finished the game with 26-14 rally.
Kami Kabangu (203-C-84) top-scored for the winners with 24 points and 10 rebounds.Kenny Wilson (193-G-84, college: Boise St.) ended up with 22 points in a win and Brad Cameron (196-G-91) produced 19.
Moussa Ouattara (202-C-88) and Jean Paul Bayala (200-C-84) nailed 10 points each in the losing effort, while Emmanuel Pooda, Joris Bado (192-F-91) and Mamadou Sawadogo (203-PF-78) notched 9 each.
Derek Durham (177-PG-74, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) and Kader Tapsoba (208-F-87) followed them with 6 points apiece.
Rwanda made 57.8% from the field, while Burkina Faso had 53.5%.
