The national taxpayer appreciation day is celebrated in Rwanda by the Rwanda Revenue Authority and different tax payers across Rwanda. In today’s occasion, the general commissioner in the RRA Richard Tusabe informed that this 2015-2016 taxpaying year, the institution he heads collected over 1001,3 billion Rwf while the expected amount was 960,3 billion Frw.
Tusabe said that this event aims at showcasing to the public the among of money collected as taxes as to increase transparency and boost the taxpaying spirit among Rwandans
It also aims at thanking the best tax payers for their devotion and commitment in fulfilling their duties.
Richard Tusabe reveals that amount of taxes to collect increased at 4.3 %, showcasing the upward willingness of Rwandans to pay the taxes as required.
Generally Rwanda has acquired over 129 billion Rwandan francs(14,8%) as an exceeding quantity to the expected one.
Taxes collected from districts are equal to 40,4 billion Rwf while last year the collected amount equaled to 40,1 billion Rwandan francs.
The CEO of RRA said that it aims at collecting over 1084,4 billion Rwf in 2016-2017 term and49,2 billion will be collected from districts, he said.
He hopes that the expected taxes will be collected as more Rwandans understood the importance of taxpaying in different aspects of national life.
