During the official closing ceremony of the outgoing Parliament,yesterday,H.E President Paul Kagame thanked the parliamentarians for having voted more bills in this ending term.
He urged incoming MPs to promote regional cooperation and harmonize legislation with bodies, both regional and international, with which Rwanda shares interests.
Rose Mukantabana the Speaker of the Parliament thanked the President for having established a political system that allows women to get represented in the Parliament,56,25% in the Chamber.She also thanked all Rwandans who helped in one way or another in the fulfillment of the Chamber’s duties during the term.
President Kagame reminded the outgoing MPs that Rwanda still needs them to build its institutions.
Throughout his speech,H.E Paul Kagame said the new and amended bills passed during the ending mandate mostly contributed to different reforms in the Judiciary, enhancing good governance,social and economic development,that are the cornerstones upon which Rwanda’s development depends.
The Constitution ,76 article,stipulates that President of the Republic is allowed to dissolve the Parliament 30 days the expiry date of the ongoing term.
