The Catholic University of Rwanda has for the first time seen the number of female graduates (68%) exceeding the one of their brothers. Yesterday this university celebrated the graduation of its scholars for the fourth time. 276 students graduated in different disciplines.
The ceremony was chaired by Bishop Phillippe Rukamba who is the Chairperson of the University.
During his speech Bishop Rukamba urged the graduates to apply their longtime acquired knowledge in different fields as to make it fruitful both to themselves and to people in their neighborhoods.
He reminded the audience that the motto of the University is ‘to boost education quality’ amongst its students.
Don’t think learning is ending process, keep learning and improve your knowledge, the clergy warned the graduates.
Bishop Phillipe Rukamba stated that universities mainly provides people with knowledge and research abilities, respect for people’s intellect, and instilling problem solving skills amongst people.
One of the graduates from the Computer science department called Silas Nsengimana told Umuseke that he is ready to compete at the job market.
He recognizes that it is hard but still aims at overcoming that challenge and make difference.
Silas sad that Rwandans are currently intellectually strong enough to compete at the EAC market and beyond.
The Catholic University of Rwanda has six faculties namely the Commerce, Social Works, Public Health, Catechesis, Education and Science and Technology.
