Rwandans are not allowed to enter the DRC territory without paying an amount of $ 50 for a visa. To the other side, DRC citizens keep entering Rwanda without any challenges.
Both Rwanda and DRC are state members of CPGL, an economic organisation aimed at steering up infrastructures and bilateral partnership. The Republic of Burundi has also joined the CPGLR, which organisation endures technical and financial weaknesses.
Rwanda and DRC are currently undergoing diplomatic crisis that resulted from a recent border disputes.
One of the DRC citizens who entered Rwanda yesterday has told UM– USEKE reporter in Rubavu that Congolese are crossing the border and enter the Rwandan territory easily as usual.
The DRC decision is challenging the Rwandan tradesmen who usually purchase goods in the DRC’s neighboring Goma or Bukavu commercial towns.
Rwandan Minister of foreign affairs has told media that the root of the crisis between both nations are embedded into the fact the DRC keeps hosting the Interahamwe genocide perpetrators who kept attacking Rwandan territory and violate the Rwandan sovereignty.
