After visiting the Isange One Stop Center, a center that handles Gender-Based Violence cases located at Kacyiru, Dr Joyce Laboso lauded the efforts provided by the Rwandan government to eradicate all GBV-related crimes.
For these achievements should be implemented in her motherland Kenya where she heads the Chamber of Parliament.
Dr Joyce Laboso who was in Rwanda as she attended the international women parliamentarians summit which was taking place in Rwanda visited the Isange One Stop Center in order to learn more from the strategies Rwandan government has set up to protect its citizens.
The GBV is a serious threat to the human rights and should be eradicate allover the world, she said.
She said that one of the most fear inspiring aspects of the GBV is the fact that the victim searches to hide her fate and this encourages the evildoers.
The creation of the Isange One Stop Center is a remarkable measure taken in order to effectively fight against the GBV, she said.
She expressed her wishes that the anti-GBV measures taken by Rwandan government should be applied in her native nation Kenya. The Rwanda National Police has set up the Isange One Stop Center as an institution that aims at protecting and handling GBV cases.
This RNP department does also provide psychological and legal support to the victims.
