6 Nzeri 2014 –This exceptional trial of a man who is alleged to have sexually abused his daughter took place in Nyakabungo cell, Kigarama cell, in Kirehe District. His case started to considered in the place where he lived at the time he committed the crime he is suspected of.
Locals attended this special trial as to eyewitness and hear from’ the father who abused’ his own daughter.
The chief judge in the panel told that he is guilty to have sexually abused his own daughter at the time when he was back home being drunken of a highly alcoholic drink locally known as Siriduwire mixed with a banana beer.
The accused has told UM– USEKE that he has committed the crime due to drunken situation he was involved in.
In front of the body of judges, Ryumugabe did not deny the allegations and pledged for mercy and release. The judge in chief told the audience that the decisions about this case will be pronounced not later than this 26, September, 2014 in the areas where the crime has been committed.
If the suspect becomes guilty of having committed the crime, he will face the life imprisonment and pay a fee between 100 and 200 thousand Rwandan francs.
Some of the locals told UM– USEKE that if the suspect is found guilty, he ought to be severely punished while others pledge for forgiveness to him so that he might be able to raise his kids.
