These merchants who were operating in Nyabugogo market told UM– USEKE that they are not contented with the new market locate in Biryogo they are operating in due to its thin size while most of them have many assets to provide to their clients.
One of the situations that discomforted those most relates to the fact that the date at which they were meant to relocate to the new market is not the exact one they have been relocated.
The initial date was November, 11, 2014 but they were obliged to relocate on October, 15, 2014 while they were not fully prepared for the departure.
As long as the new market is concerned, the merchants expressed their worries regarding the fact that the new market does not have car parking for the clients ,and most likely, many of the clients do not known the area, hence, a challenge to both clients and merchants.
One of the merchants urged the officials in charge to manage the situation and relocate them with a humane behavior as the means by which the officials relocate them does not respect their dignity, he said.
Another challenge relates to the increased taxes that hinder them from maximizing the profit.
However, some of the locals including Ntabanganyimama Joel appreciated the relocation considering it as a way of improving their economic activities as it is one of the National 2020 economic vision pillars , he highlighted.
