The Rwandan teenager Beatha Nishimwe was awarded with a golden medal after being number one winner of the 1500 meters race that took place yesterday in Iles Maurice.
She managed to race the distance within four minutes and seventeen seconds.
Another Rwandan girl called Iribagiza became number three as she raced the 800 meters distance within 2 minutes and 13 seconds. Iribagiza was handled with a bronze medal.
One of the requirements of the competitors is not to be more than 17 years old or less than 15 years old.
The coach of the Rwandan team, Patrick Niyibigira, lauded the performance of Rwandan girls, revealing that this is resulted from tense trainings undergone before the contest began.
The Rwandan team comprised of three Rwandan: two girls and one boy named Placide Igiraneza.
Both Iribagiza and Nishimwe will represent Rwanda in the World Championship labeled 2015 World Youth Championships/Athletics) to take place in few months ahead in Santiago, Colombia.
