According to confirmed information, last week not less than 18 executive secretaries have resigned but the district mayor assures the population that the situation is calm and under control.
Mayor Harerimana Frederic told Umuseke that the working status allows them to resign anytime necessary.
Last week, different officials resigned. Those include: Lea Uwirereye of Gashonga sector, Sebagabo Victor of Nkungu sector, Placide Sibomana of Nkombo sector and Murenzi Leonard who headed the Business Development Fund in Rusizi district.
There were other officials in charge of animal veterinary and Vision Umurenge Program (VUP).
Mayor Harerimana said that their resignation shows how accountable they are.
He promised that all the services normally provided to inhabitants will not be disturbed by the absence of the officials who resigned.
In Rwanda, we have strong institutions that can’t be disturbed by the lack or absence of a cadre, he uttered.
He said that the ones who will be found guilty for the mismanagement of public funds, will face justice.
However, the district management is in search of the ones to replace those who resigned but it does it progressively, Mayor Harenimana said.
