This was confirmed by the President of the National Elections Commission (NEC), Prof Kalisa Mbanda in a press conference held this Friday. He revealed that the selected candidates will be known on January, 18-20, 2016 but a exhaustive list of the candidates will be made public on February, 04, 2016.
The Executive secretary of the NEC, Charles Munyaneza informed the reporters that the date for the willing persons to represent their candidatures started on January, 05, 2016 and the expiration date is set for January, 20, 2016.
At the district level, candidatures will be validated between 21-22, January while at the National level, pre-selected candidatures will be validated on 25, January this Year.
Additionally, he informed that that elections will be carried out on February, 08, 2016 and will be concerned with the elections of youth representatives, peoples with disabilities’ representatives, and women’s representatives.
The elections of the executive committee for the youth will be held on February, 02, 2016 and will be conducted on secondary and high schools.
He added that the elections of the women’s representatives and cell advisers will take place on February, 02, 2016.
The representatives of the youth will be elected on February, 27, 2016 and will be held at Kigali city level and district levels.
Lastly on March, 04, 2016 there will be elections of women’ representatives at national level, representatives of the people with disabilities at national level and youth representatives’ elections at national level.
The final results will be declared on March, 08, 2016, the NEC informs.
