According to RAB, The Gira Inka Program(Have a Cow)has improved the living conditions of Rwandans decreasing from 63.5% of poor people to 41%
.The RAB(Rwanda Agricultural Board) announces that Gira Inka Program has tremendously contributed to better living conditions of Rwandans since its inception in 2006.
RAB’ Andrew Kagabo said that Gira Inka Program has brought positive results as it improved lives of young people and has contributed to income generating activities for cows owners.
He said this during a meeting that aimed at presenting to the public the results of the Gira Inka achievements and objectives to achieve in its next term.
Until now 179.253 cows were distributed to needy people selected at the grassroots level of the cell.
In the next program, the Gira Inka Program will focus more on assessing on how cows are distributed to people as in the past some local leaders were given a cows unfairly.
This has brought up serious challenges to Gira Inka as a program that exclusively concerns poor and needy people.
Dr Rutagengwa Theogene urged Rwandans who received the cows to take care of them as to help others have a cow.
