Yesterday, a new program aiming at straightening democracy and justice to improving good governance was launched by RGB, UND, UN Women and UNICEF.
This new program is rooted into different sustained governmental policies embodied on the EDPRS II(Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategies II).
Prof Shyaka Anastase, the Chief of RGB , said that this is new program will last for five years as Rwandans will be familiar with these new policies.
Rwanda is undergoing effective changes in different areas of national life, the examples being drawn from recent elections qualified as transparent and fair by observers, says Prof Shyaka Anastase.
Concerning the financial means to implement these new policies, Prof Shyaka affirmed that 90% of the needed means is available. He is confident on people’s will to contribute and make these policies successful.
All the panelists highlighted the usefulness of these policies especially matters relating to social justice towards socially vulnerable groups such women and children.
These program are considered to be the fuel to foster an inclusive development of Rwandans.
Justice Minister Johnston Busingye underlined the role of justice to promote development as it played a crucial role in reuniting Rwandans after the dark history Rwanda went through.
Minister Musoni James told the assembly that the purpose of all these is to ensure all Rwandans have equal access to justice and development.
I am proud of how different institutions work for the advancement of democracy , commends Minister Musoni James.
He appreciated how parliamentary elections were held.
The fairness and transparency observed throughout these elections confirm that Rwandan democracy is mature enough to promote economic development, added Minister Musoni James
