During a press conference held by the Green Party officials, an opposition party with journalists, Yesterday on 4, November,2013, Dr Habineza Frank said that political leaders from different administration entities should not bear the emblems of their political parties and lead the population.
He said that different authorities in place in the different administration entities should resign from their positions as political parties leaders as to let local inhabitants from other political parties feel comfortable with them.
For him, these leaders should be free from any political party while in exercise.
Dr Frank Habineza said: “The Mayor of a given district should not be the President of a political party in that very district, a district that has inhabitants being members of other political parties”
Dr Habineza added that if a local population sees a district leader wearing a political party T-shirt, or other emblem he/she finds this embarrassing as this shows that the mayor might be favoring inhabitants who are members of his party.
The leader of the Green Party said that these calls are directed the local administration officials but not yet to the President who leads the RPF political party.
These claims concern Mayors, province leaders with all leaders who both exercise the power as local administration while being political parties representatives in their respective districts.
