During a joint meeting between  political and religious authorities in Muhanga district, religious organisations that worship in deplorable houses were told to find new and functional houses to carry out their worship activities not later than 1st , December, 2013.

This comes in after a systematic assessment of the physical conditions of the churches in Muhanga  has started so to prevent future damages that could eventually harm people’s lives.

After the decisions were taken upon this situation, it was provided to a group of experts and officials in retreat to learn on them and find ways to implement  them accordingly.

After a clear understanding of the situation, the group took resolutions to implement them as agreed upon by the due authorities.

Some of the religious officials claim that the choice of the churches to resettle was emotionally biased. Bishop Habimana  Elisa leading the “Isoko imara inyota” church said that some churches were selected to resettle while others worshiping in the buildings having the same physical conditions were not  forced to do so.

Despite that, he agrees his church will resettle as to conform to district resolutions.

The spokesperson of the Muhanga District , Sebashi Claude  told UM– USEKE that no emotional choices were involved during the selection, affirming that the religious authorities were told to resettle within a period of one year but they delayed, so the distrct had to force them respect the order, adds Sebashi.

Some of the religious organisations urged to resettle  include: The New Jerusalem Church, Goshen Holly Church, International  Nazarene Church in Rwanda, Methodist Church and the Isoko imara inyota Church.
