Yesterday in a press conference Minister Mussa Fazil Harerimana said that if a political party joins the FDLR political party consequently it joins the terrorism as the FDLR has been listed among the terrorist groups in the world.
Minister of local government Fazil Harerimana uttered that during a press conference meant to explain to the press the Law No 45-2008 that explains the criteria defining in which circumstances someone or a given political party can be ranked as a terrorist group.
According to the Law, a terrorist group or person is anyone or any political party whose intentions are to overthrow a legitimate government using either killing, terror or kidnapping innocent people.
For Minister Fazil Harerimana, FDLR is a terrorist group composed of genocide perpetrators who fled the country and are still eager to exterminate the Tutsi.
Members of the FDLR are responsible of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Consequently, all who support them become partners with terrorist group members, Min Fazil said.
Concerning the RNC political party, Minister Fazil Harerimana said that he does consider it as political party.
For him the RNC members are among the terrorists, including Kayumba and Late Karegeya. He told reporters that proofs are available that those people are party of the terrorist groups’ members.
ACP Theos Badege advised Rwandans to be vigilant as to hinder terrorist acts from happening in the countries through the participation of citizens to informing the due authorities.
He warns Rwandans to not be accomplices of the terrorists.
It is useful and wise for every Rwandan to avoid any link to terrorism. We don’t want anyone to regret his/ her choice to have been involved in a terrorist act, ACP Badege warns.
This Law has been set up in 2008 and the press conference was meant to increase the public awareness of its existence and value.
The Law enforces legal pursuits to any one attending a terrorist group meeting either physically or through e-channels.
