Bigirimana Elizaphan, a Rwanda student killed in India his body will be transferred to Rwanda and be buried in honor. Media in Rwanda have reported that the young Rwandan student was kidnapped but he was killed according to the recent India Police’ revelations.
Bigirimana was studying in India in Mysore area. He went in India being invited by his three friends. The representative of Rwandan students in India told Umuseke that from 17, February, 2014, the telephone of Bigirimana was off and this left his fellow Rwandans confused and worried about his life .
On 11th, February, Police in India found a corpse in the a valley and started its investigation to find out in which black communities the died person belonged but in vain.
The Police buried the body and continued its search as to find out who might know the person. But as the identification papers of the victim were thrown away, the investigation was unfruitful until Robert Manzi show the pictures to Rwandans who lived together with late Bigirimana and recognized him.
Manzi immediately called Rwandan Embassy in India informing it on the death of Bigirimana urging the embassy to exhume the body of Bigirimana and return it to Rwanda.
One of the senior staff members of the Embassy helped in finding out how the body can exhumed and transferred to Rwanda to be buried by Bigirimana’s family members.
Manzi said that the reasons for the death of Bigirimana are still unknown but his death is most likely related to the fact that he had money from his family members in Rwanda.
His assassination is linked to the fact that in India robbers kill and and rob people’s money.
Suspects of the death are arrested and further investigation continues. His body will be brought to Rwanda in the coming days.
Bikorimana was an engineering university student soon to complete his studies.
