During a general meeting that brought together both political and security officials from the Muhanga District, officials expressed their concerns that different imihigo contract will not achived in the due time as planned earlier.
One of the most important contracts is to equip 70,440 households with both clean water and electrical energy as planned for the year 2013-2014.
The Mayor of the Distict Mutakwasuku Yvonne is worried about the fact that over 20,000 households will not get the infrastructures before two months are over, meaning the time at which officials present how far the contact has achieved in its fulfillment.
At another hand,Mutakwasuku lauded the extent at which some of the contract have been achieved especially concerning the construction of health centers and helping people become modern cow herders
Mutakwasuku said that one of the reasons why the contracts are not yet fulfilled is that local authorities do not provide enough efforts to achieve them in the planned time.
Some of the local authorities at cell, and sector levels told the gathering that the poor performance of certain Imihogo contracts resulted from the fact that some of the local people did not provide needed efforts to acquire the biogas facilities.
The Spokesperson of the Muhanga Distict Sebashi Claude, promised
that the remaining contracts will be achieved in the near coming months.
He said that one f the strategies to achieve this will be a wide mobilization in the cells and sector as to speed up the understanding of people so to build the biogas facilities in their households.
This will be done before April ends, he promises.
Sectors such Nyamabuye and Shyogwe are the most achievers of the contracts while sectors that follow are still undergoing challenges: Cyeza, Kiyumba, Nyarusange, Nyabinoni, Rongi and Mushishiro.
