A lost Green Party member reappears

He appears after the Green Party President Frank Habineza declared to the press that Leo Omar has been kidnapped by  officials for political reasons.

Leo Omar told reporters that he fled after having heard that Frannk Habineza accusing  Gen Kabarebe to have kidnapped him.

He said that he went to hiding because he feared that Frank could kill him and bring the case to the Gen Kabarebe’s shoulders while he is innocent.

He told media that he went to hiding between 26 and 27 January, 2013 in Burundi and in Kenya.

Omar told media that Frank forged the accusations against Rwandan government as to show to the international community that the leading party, RPF, is threatening the Green Party.

He revealed to the press that Frank Habineza betrayed him several times. For him the Green Party is a good political party but its leader is worst, Leon says.

Leon says he wants to return to the RPF political party as he was part of its members early.

Chief Inspector Emmanuel Kabanda told media that Police welcomes every Rwandan who freely returns home.

We want every Rwandan who fled in the foreign countries to come back home, he said.

About Omar’s security as someone who claims  his life was endangered by Green Party President Frank Habineza, Chief Inspector Kabanda promises that Omar will be kept secure as all Rwandans do but no special security measures  will be set up for him.

Leon Omar was a student at IPB ( Institut Polytechnique de Byumba) before fleeing the nation.
