AfD President Adesina awarded for his devotion for agriculture development

The African Bank President Adesina Akinwumi who is in Rwanda to attend  the three days summit on the advancement of the agriculture at the continent was rewarded by the Rwandan Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi who officially opened the African event.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Nigerian native is globally known for his involvement in the intensive research aimed at boosting African agriculture.

He replaced the Rwandan Dr Donat Kaberuka in leading the African bank for development.

His CV shows how intensive his career has been in his country as well in different other institutions having agriculture in its duties where he assumed various responsibilities.

Rwandan Prime Minister Murekezi lauded his efforts to make African agriculture more profitable for its practitioners and, therefore, play a role in money generation for budget setting up and management.

At the other side, Adesina told  participants that  the bank plans to invest 24million $ in agriculture to  enhance the production and hinder the hunger from become  epidemic.

For the Nigerian, Africa has all of necessary resources including fertile soil to grow crops but an increased and sustainable investment in agriculture can help in eradicating famine.

He said that this will help in making the sector more productive at 400%.

Prime Minister Murekezi said that Rwanda is among the first signatory countries to have signed the protocol to boost agriculture, agreement labeled  CAAPD (Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme).

The agreement is in connection with the 2020 Vision on agriculture that Rwanda has set up, PM Murekezi said.
