AMAVUBI female football team ready to win the CECAFA

26 Rwandan female football players are undergoing intensive training before a meticulous selection of the best performers who will represent Rwanda in the coming CECAFA competition. The training retreat is supervised by Nyinawumuntu Grace, Sosthene Habimana and Jean Claude Maniraguha, all being well known in the female football sector.

The aim of the team, once selected, is to win the CECAFA cup scheduled to take place in Uganda, Jinja from 11-17, September, 2016.

Rwanda is grouped with Tanzania and Ethiopia in the Group B

Even though the Rwandan team is willing to win this championship, it spent two years without exercises and this is likely to disadvantaging it.

Lastly, Amavubi female football team played with Nigeria team and was heavily defeated with 8 goals out of zero.

Among 26 ones that are being trained, only 20 best ones will be selected:

Goal Keepers: Ingabire N. Judith (AS Kaigali), Nyinawumuntu Shamimu (Kamonyi Fc) and Uwizeyimana Helene (AS Kigali)

Defenders: Mukamana Clementine (AS Kigali), Maniraguha Louise (Les Lionnes), Umulisa Edith (AS Kigali), Mukantaganira Joseline (Kamonyi), Kayitesi Alodie (AS Kigali), Uwamahoro M. Claire (AS Kigali), Abimana Djamila (Kamonyi) and Nyiransanzabera Miliam (AS Kigali)

Middle fielders: Nibagwire Sifa Gloria (AS Kigali), Mukashema Albertine (Kamonyi,) Nyirahafashimana M. Jeanne (AS Kigali), Mukeshimana Janette (Kamonyi), Mwizerwa Francine (AS Kigali), Mukeshimana Dorothea (Kamonyi), Umwariwase Dudja (AS Kigali), Ntagisanimana Saida (AS Kigali), Uwamahirwe Chadia (AS Kigali) and Kalimba Alice (AS Kigali).

Strikers: Ibangarye Anne Marie (AS Kigali), Iradukunda Calixte (Kamonyi), Nibagwire Liberate (AS Kigali), Uwihirwe Kevine (Rambura) and Imanizabayo Florence (AS Kigali).

Coaches : Head Coach Grace Nyinawumuntu, Sosthen Habimana (Assistant coach), Maniraguha Jean Claude (Goalkeepers’ coach).
