Pursuant to the Ministerial Order n°05/MOS/TRANS/015 of 08/04/2015 Determining the Validity and Requirements for Renewal of the National Driving License, Rwanda National Police (RNP) wishes to inform the general public that its department of Traffic and Road Safety (TRS) has started renewing expired Driving Licenses.
Renewing a Driving License can now be done by use of a Short Message Service (SMS) on MTN network as follows;
Go to compose new message, write letter “R” leave a space, write your National Identification Number, leave a space, write the district where you will collect your renewed driving license from, leave a space, write the RRA receipt number. Send the message to 3126.
Renewing a Driving License costs Five Thousand Rwandan Francs (Rwf 5000).
Rwanda National Police also urges anyone with an expired driving license to immediately commence the renewal process.
