He normally plays for the Les Amis Sportifs cycling club and has won the first Kivu race but he kept his exercises until he won the second one yesterday after he arrived first at the finishing line between Ngororero-Rubavu districts.
The riders had to run from Ngororero district towards Rubavu and had to cross the Rubavu city six times before finishing the run.
The club calle Benediction Club started among the leading ones at the cyclists were heading to Nyabihu-Rubavu however the club lacked its leading captain who recently underwent a surgery to his shoulder.
Two young riders namely Manizabayo Eric, 17 years old, and Ukiniwabo Irene provided more efforts to bypass the rest of riders as he squad arrived nearby Kabaya .
Nonetheless those young cyclists reduced the strength as they kept riding and this became an opportunity for other riders such as to Karegeya Jeremy to overrun them.
Arriving at Nyabihu, the riders of the Benediction club emerged and came closer to the rest o the squad, trying to overrun them.
Riders such as Mugisha Samuel and Gasore Hategeka came first in the squad but arrived at Mukamira area, Areruya Joseph provide more efforts with his co-riders aiming at overrunning the rest of the squad.
Nearing Rubavu city, The Benediction club riders such as Areruya and his co-riders attacked very firmly.
The aim was to cross the city six times before arriving at the finishing line.
However, Karegeya Jeremy from Cine Elmay from Nyamirambo and Areruya Josepf from Les Amis Sportifs over speeded and overran the rest o the squad and they became the first finishers.
Areruya Joseph wins the competition for the second time as he did it for the last time; he was awarded with the Rwanda Cycling Cup.
