As the 2016 Tour du Rwanda is getting closer, Rwandan cyclists who will attend it are rehearsing to be more prepared for it.
The Nyungwe Challenge is one of the competitions prepared in this respect. Areruya Joseph who won the challenge told reporters that he aims at winning the coming 2016 Tour du Rwanda.
The Nyungwe Challenge took place on October, 2016 in Rusizi as to help 20 Rwandan cyclists get more prepared and ready for the Tour du Rwanda.
The riders left Rusizi , headed to Nyungwe forest before reaching Huye city. The distance was 140.7 kilometers long.
The first one to arrive at Golden Monkey Hotel in Nyamagabe city was to be rewarded with 50 000 Rwf.
The Challenge was attended by four teams namely:
Team Rwanda composed of Byukusenge Nathan (Benediction), Ruhumuriza Abraham (CCA), Biziyaremye Joseph (Cine Elmay), Gasore Hategeka (Benediction) and Nduwayo Eric(Benediction)

There was also an other additional cycling team composed of varying riders who proved to be talented and committed in the game namely: Nsengimana Bosco (wa BikeAid), Hakizimana Seth, Hakizimana Didier, Mpitiwenimana Papy, Ukiniwabo Rene Jean Paul
