As he appeared in the court Mugesera wished a Happy New Year to both judges and prosecutors

Today as the Mugesera court hearing resumed, the Court has expressed its concerns about the lack of Mugesera’s lawyer Felix Rudakemwa who claims to be sick and judges wonder whether the lawyer’s claims are trustworthy.

This morning as the court hearing accelerated, the accused Mugesera wished the New Happy Year to all judges and prosecutors.

After expressing the Happy new year to both judges and prosecutors, the body of judges asked the accused whether he has ever received and read the letter written by his Lawyer Rudakemwa but the accused responded negatively.

He told the court that  if his lawyer decides to no longer support him, he is able and constitutionally allowed to defend himself as the article 18 of the Constitution stipulates.

At the other side , however, the prosecution pinpointed the fact that the accused is meant to have a lawyer as he has always been defended since the starting of the case.

The body of judges has therefore decided to postponed the court hearing on 7th, January, 2015.

The court has thereafter decided to investigate the trustworthiness of the so-called sickness that lawyer Felix Rudakemwa is suffering of and then take adequate decision upon it.
