As recently appointed the new Ambassador of Rwanda in Belgium, Olivier Nduhungirehe has presented his credential letters to Belgian King Philippe. Nduhungirehe has been working in the Rwandan Ministry of foreign affairs and played a role in managing different burning situations concerning Rwanda at the diplomatic level.
One of the challenges he will be facing includes enhancing bilateral cooperation that recently underwent complications due to the alleged involvement of Rwanda in regional conflicts caused by various armed groups.
However, bilateral cooperation between both nations has been positive for many years and keeps improving until now despite temporally slowdowns.
Belgium is one of the European countries hosting many Rwandans, some being accused of having played a role in the Genocide against the Tutsi while others are living there for other ends.
The Belgian Foreign affairs minister, Didier J.L. Reynders has often visited Rwanda for diverse reasons but, more importantly, has been discussing with Rwandan authorities about bilateral ties in different sectors such education, economy and in many others areas of national life.
