Bernard Munyagishari is Soon To be Sent to Rwandan Justice.

According to Arusha Court,Munyagishari will be sent to Rwandan Justice next month.He is imprisoned in Arusha ICTR .He is suspected to have committed the Genocide against the Tutsi in 1994.’Munyagishari is the second one after Jean Uwinkindi who was sent to Rwanda in 2012 but who has not been brought to Justice yet.

The Communiqué affirms that Munyagishari will be sent to Rwanda after 30 days according to the decisions taken by the Board of ICTR.

This extradition of 1994 genocide suspects continues as the deadline for the closure of ICTR’ mandate draws closer, in 2014.

In 1994,Munyagishari was the Executive Secretary of MRND(Mouvement Révolutionaire National pour le Devéloppement) in the former Gisenyi Prefecture.

The decision to send him in Rwanda has been stated the 6^th, June, 2012 and has been approved on 3^rd ,May,2013.

Munyagishari denies the allegations according which he perpetrated Genocide against the Tutsi.

Recently he escaped from being sent to Rwanda due to his defense claiming that he was likely to not receive adequate justice in Rwanda.

Munyagishari presented the case of Uwinkindi where he said that Rwandan Persecution Authority has denied some rights to Uwinkindi to choose his defense lawyers.

Rwandan Persecution Body denounces this because in Rwanda it’s the Police that pursue the Criminal Persecution rather than the Court.

All of the Munyagishari claims have been rejected as the Arusha Court found them baseless.

Apart from Munyagishari’ case there are other six cases to be sent to Rwandan Justice in the coming days for their suspected role in 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
