She’s music royalty so it’s only fitting that Blue Ivy Carter celebrated her second birthday with a party fit for a princess. The daughter of superstars Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) was spoilt rotten by her doting parents who rented out Jungle Island wildlife park and botanical garden in Miami for her big day.
The princess themed bash – where the guest of honour and her mother both wore tiaras – included face-painting, exotic animals and a Destiny’s Child reunion as Beyonce’s band mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams also attended.
A source told Us Weekly: ‘She is the apple of their eye. She is an adorable, well-adjusted and very funny baby girl.’
Cute images of the pair show Beyonce and Blue playing with balloons together on the floor.
Jay-Z isn’t seen in the pictures except for his feet and hands as he helps Blue onto a new four wheeled toy.
The pictures also show Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle with their faces painted and all seemed to having just as much fun as the youngster proving that even though they are not working together right now, they are closer than ever.
The gorgeous girl is dressed in a tutu for the occasion along with a cute top covered in stars, showing she has picked up some fashion tips from her mother.
Jay-Z and Beyonce closed down the Jungle Island bird sanctuary within Miami Zoo to ensure Blue had her every wish fulfilled for her.
According to reports, Beyoncé and her hubby went all out to ensure the jungle-themed bash was a huge success.
And while the costs of putting on such an event have yet to be revealed, the cost of just a VIP tour at the sanctuary and botanical garden is around $240 – which means closing the entire venue is likely to be in the region of thousands of dollars.
Her parents’ generosity meant that Blue saw in her second birthday surrounded by a host of exotic animals, including penguins, kangaroos and lemurs.
And Beyonce didn’t let her daughter have all the fun, sharing a number of pictures of herself with a variety of animals including snakes, tigers and monkeys.
