Different sources from Burundi inform that the elderly former President JB Bagaza was born in Bururi commune.

At the beginning of this year, there have been rumors  circulating about his death but he urged that his time to die has not yet come.

That was few weeks after the  murder of late Col Jean Bikomagu who was short dead.

Col Bagaza was removed from power through a coup planned by the former President Major Pierre Buyoya and fled to Uganda before heading to Libya.

In 1993 he came back in Burundi and one year later  he created his own  political party PARENA.

Currently, he was appointed as Senator for life.
