Cat caught smuggling mobile phones in Russian

A cat has been caught trying to carry mobile phones into a Russian prison.

The black and white feline had two mobiles, complete with batteries and chargers, taped to its body.
Prison guards in Russia’s Republic of Komi caught the cat on Friday as it was climbing the fence of Penal Colony No 1, a corrective labour camp.

A prison spokesman told Agence France-Press “The prison colony is at a loss: nothing like this has happened in the prison’s history.”

A similar incident happened in Brazil  earlier this year, when a cat was stopped after it attempted to enter a prison with items such as a mobile phone, a drill and a saw.
