As she was addressing the media this Thursday , the Minister of Sports and culture Julienne Uwacu with the managing team from both the Ministry and Rwandan football federation, said that Rwandan government has invested 2 billion in the lastly ended CHAN but it earned 200 Rwf from the investment.
She said that the company that was entrusted to sell the ticket labeled INOVYS has earned 200 million Rwf, adding that the main achievement for Rwanda was to host the championship successfully.
The earned money was used to cater for the rehabilitation of the playgrounds where matches took place as well as to pay the salaries of the workers.
Min Uwacu was also glad that Rwandan private sector operators earned more money through selling their services to the fans who came from across Africa to attend the matches.
The hotels and restaurants operators were the ones who benefited more from the transactions happened throughout the CHAN.
The President of FERWAFA, Nzamwita Vincent Degaule thanked the Ministry for its support during and after the CHAN 2016.
