Duriing the press conference that took place today, three Ministers namely Musa Fadhil Harerimana (internal affairs), Min Johnston Busingye (Justice), and Min Stella Ford Mugabo(Cabinet affairs) told reporters that the current Criminal Investigation Department will be adapted to a new legal framework and it will be equipped with new responsibilities and name.
Min Johnston Busingye said that this new incentive is rooted on the fact that current legal and criminal status are changing and should be managed by a specialized body.
The creation of Rwanda Investigation Bureau has been made public in the national gazette issue released yesterday.
It will be responsible of criminal investigation internally and will be under the management of the Ministry of justice.
The Bureau will comprise of civilians and selected police agents.
Ministry of justice will also manage the Musanze Senior Police training as enforced into the Law draft to be assessed by the Parliament before becoming effective.
