Col Rutaremara affirms that civilians play an important role in the peacekeeping activities and this is the reason why they deserve training in order to update their knowledge and be more productive.
The Rector of Rwanda Military Academy,Col Rutaremara Jules uttered this during his speech delivered to participants into the training to learn more about peacekeeping activities and ethical conduct.
Col Rutaremara said that the EASF(Eastern African Standby Force) is a recognized peace keeping force in the region but,according to him,it needs civilians to back it in these activities,thus training .
We want to upgrade their knowledge as effective partners in our activities to ensure peace and security wherever necessary,Col Rutaremara Jules adds.
This is the first a first step to ensure that our partners understand the depth of the task ahead. Peacekeeping activities can cost one’s life.It is not all about money,Col Rutaremara advised the civilians attending the training.
The attendants from eight countries say that these training is of a great importance as it will equip them with necessary skills to bring the effectiveness on their peacekeeping activities.
Attendants come from eight countries such as Kenya,Burundi, Djibouti,Seychelles, Somalia,Uganda,Sudan and the host Rwanda.
