The Rwanda Revenue Authority manager Richard Tushabe told media that this is a serious issue that handicaps the national economy in its prosperity as this is a strong pillar of Rwandan prosperity.
He adds that the RRA management took some decisions to solve this issue such as increasing sensitization on the usefulness of taxpaying.
The RRA also decided to conduct trips to the taxpayers’ working areas to learn on the issues complicating their work and that eventually hinder them from paying taxes as all economic operators do.
Tushabe reminded all merchants and other businessmen to nurture and increase the spirit of taxpaying as to contribute to their nation’s development.
He revealed that construction sector pays not less than 11,2 billion Frw as taxes while the hotel sector pays around eight billion Rwf as taxes.
The RRA plans to collect not less than 1084 billion Frw from taxes during this fiscal year of 2016-2017.
