The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has published photos of lion curbs that were born from the newly introduced lions in the Akagera National Park. The lionesses and lions were taken from South Africa and brought to Rwanda through an air transport.
There has been around 20 years that no lion was born in Rwanda. The curbs were photographed this Thursday alongside his mother in the Akagera National Park.
Since the new lions were introduced to Rwanda, visitors of the Akagera National Park increased at 23%, a remarkable increase that will help in generating more financial incomes.
The new born curbs are usually blind and immobile, a situation that endangers their lives.
Due to this, mothers are in constant security guard for their offspring against predators such as hyenas among others.
The mother of these curbs is nicknamed Shema and is 11 years old.Shema has its first born whose name is Amahoro that is three years old.
Its fellow lion is called the Ngangare and are the leading lions.
RDB says that more other lionesses are pregnant and will produce new curbs in the near future.
These lionesses are nicknamed Kazi, Umwari, and Garuka
