A delegation from Sudan is in Rwanda in an official visit to Rwandan Unity and Reconciliation Commission with an aim of learning how effectively they can apply some of the strategies that helped Rwandans to overcome post genocide sad experience and embrace peace.
They affirm that the problems that Rwanda has faced and overcame are similar to theirs, thus they can learn on how the situation in their country can improve.
Darfur province is a Sudanese province that has undergone ethnic and tribal bloody troubles, a situaon that some observers have labeled a genocide.
Ibrahim Adam Ibrahim who leads the Sudanese commission of unity in Darfur affirmed that Rwanda is a world model on teaching unity and reconciliation issues that are required fro sustainable peace and development.
We are proud and lucky to be in Rwanda for a study tour on how unity and reconciliation can be used to enhance social and economic growth, Sudanese delegation members said.
The CEO of the NURC Fidel Ndayisaba thanked the Sudanese delegation for their study tour in Rwanda as it shows that Rwanda is a model in this regard. He promised that Rwanda is always willing and ready to provide its insights on unity and reconciliation policies that Rwandans have nurtured.
