The DRC Minister in charge of transport in the North Kivu, Guillaume Bulunda said that 11 people perished into a ship sinking in the Kivu Late. He added that further search is carried out to find out whether other people survived so to rescue them.
The Ship sinking happened this Monday and was carrying 17 people among whom 11 lost their lives
The survivors are under medical care from the MONUSCO medical staff located at Goma, East DRC.
The sinking of the ship comes in after the boat of the SNCC, a railway construction and management society sunk in the Kivu Lake.
The accident of the SNCC boat did not kill a person but all the 115 tons of metals packaged in the boat perished.
