As the regional conference on mines and mineral resources management is taking place in Goma, the intense controversy has been raised after finding out the Belvedere buses used for the transport of officials to attend the Conference were taken from Rwanda.
The transport started since this Tuesday but buses’numbers were covered as not to be observed.
Reports from Goma say that a lot of controversy has been raised after discovering that the buses were covered as not to be observable.
Congolese inhabitants are angry about the fact that DRC officials were transported by buses from Rwanda.
The Conference was chaired by the DRC Prime Minister Matata Ponyo, UM– USEKE journalist reports.
This controversy raised after a journalist called one journalist Ley Uwera tweeted that it is a shame to DRC officials to rend buses from Rwanda for their transport.
However, one of DRC senior officials told UM– USEKE reporter that Rwanda and DRC are friends and that there is no reason why DRC could not rend cars from Rwanda or not being accommodated in Rwandan Hotels.
Media and the common people are debating on this issue, some qualifying as shameful to DRC others finding it as a proof of friendly neighborhood between both nations.
The Conference continues today and will close during late afternoon hours. This issue happens during a time where the Heads of both States are attending an ICGLR Conference in Luanda, Angola, a Conference that is assessing the progress achieved in defeating the negative armed forces including the FDLR militias.
The Buses of Belvedere returned in Rwanda safely, without any harm.
