Rwanda and EAC representatives signed an agreement according which the IT and science commitee of EAC will besiege in Kigali.The agreement was signed yesterday at Kimihurura by Rwandan Minister of foreign affairs Louise Mushikiwabo and EAC Secretary General, Dr Richard Sezibera.
Minister Mushikiwabo said that this agreement will facilitate Rwanda to develop its IT sector quicker and reach the stage at which other countries have achieved in IT and science promotion.
For Dr Richard Sezibera, all EAC state members will benefit from this agreement as each nation will be learning from each other and develop both economically and technologically.
According to the agenda, 22 IT and science committee members will be soon elected and start the job in July this year.
The committee headquarters are chosen to besiege in Telecom House, Kigali, Rwanda. The EAC heart committee is set in Bujumbura while EAC Kiswahili Committee is located in Kenya.
After signing the agreement, Dr Sezibera and Minister Mushikiwabo awarded students who excelled into sensitizing the general public about the activities of the EAC through different artistic creations.
The best one has been rewarded with 200, 000 Rwandan francs while others received the certificate of participation.
The authorities provided schools from where those students came from which computers, printers and other necessary tools for further research about the EAC activities.
