They have been relocated to another private center in 2014. REB later on agreed to provide them with legally accepted duties. Those are the former workers of the Rwanda Education Board who were relocated to another private employer without being given salary duties.
The REB representatives have told the members of parliament that eleven people who have been working for are claiming for some duties that they should have been given and these duties are worthy 20 million Rwandan francs.
The salaries that they are claiming for should have been given them in six months of the year 2014.
All is based on the fact that printing office of the REB was shifted from the National curriculum development centre(NCDC) to the Printery Services Ltd.
This shifting induced the former workers in the situation whereby their salaries were not paid to them as they were no longer working for the REB but legally they deserved it.
Janvier Ismael Gasana who leads the REB told the MPs who are part of the social affairs commission of the parliament that REB is assessing the problem and gathers all required money to pay them.
He said that the payment will take finalized within this annual budget 2015/2016.
In doing so, it( REB) consults the labor commission to learn if legal issues to pay them are gathered and if they deserve it.
He accepted that they (former workers of REB) are worthy to be given the salaries mentioned above.
Gasana said that the payment process have reached the Ministry of Commerce and Finance to finalize the process.
The President of the Parliamentary commission in charge of social affairs Hon Marie Rose Mureshyankwano urged the REB to finalize the payment of the salaries to the workers sooner in the limits of the law.
