Field studies improve children’s understanding

Students from the St Nicolas Primary School visited the Museum of the Natural History of Rwanda located in Nyarugenge sector.

The Head of the School Nshinzimana Adrien told UM– USEKE that the aim of the visit was to help students acquire more information on the history of Rwanda, a subject that fascinates more students.

Nshinzimana Adrien said that helping children learning through being shown the materials that are part of the subject under the study increases the understanding and remains memorized for a long time.

For him, learning by touching improves students’ memorizing abilities and that is why they brought those children to the museum of the natural history where different historical artifacts are exposed for researchers and learners.

One of the St Nicolas’ students Ngabo Archimede told UM– USEKE that he was  joyful to have seen a crocodile and a snake.
His classmate Isimbi was joyful too  for  having heard about the physiology of a snake because a snake has attacked her grand sister in a living room.

The Direction of the Saint Nicolas School encouraged other schools to bring the students in different field  studies  for more interactive learning that improves a better understanding.
