This Saturday, Rwandan women celebrated in the international rural woman ‘s day.The event took place in the South Province, in Nyaruguru district, Cyahinda Sector. Guest of honor in this event was the First Lady Jeannette Kagame.
The key event was mostly concerned with the emphasis on the support and care that mothers owe to their offspring, as this enables to grow better and safer.
One of the women present at the occasion said that current policies intended to promote family welfare are more useful as they are currently able to express themselves and carry more businesses.
Nyirabazungu Eugenie from Cyahinda said that she has been enduring exclusion for so long due to the fact that she is a woman but she is now feeling safe and encouraged to be more involved in issues that concern Rwandans,
Due to that, she said she has been able to build a decent house where she lives with children and husband and carry out business deals to promote her family welfare.
First Lady Jeannette Kagame lauded the progress that Rwandan women have achieved so far in different areas of national life.
She encouraged women to be more active in fighting against the violence against women and children as they are the ones mostly exposed to this danger.
Jeannette Kagame said that the women’s empowerment promotes all Rwandans at large at it is one of he pillars upon which the nation progresses and achieves its goals faster and in a sustainable way.
