20,June 2013,in Muhanga ,four students were brought to court being accused to have put under fire the Byimana Secondary School for three times ago.Those students have accepted to have been involved in the burning of the school. All they have accepted the accusations and this Thursday they were brought to justice.
The hearings were done in privacy so to help them express freely out of any intimidating sights. No journalist,no parent or curious people were allowed to attend the hearing.
Mr Ndagijimana Viateur ,the Lawyer on behalf of the teenagers ,told journalists that the hearing took place in privacy due to the fact that students ,the big majority, are still minors therefore that Law allows them to provide testimonies in privacy.
Among six students suspected to have burnt the school only four attended the hearing due to the fact other two are pined minors. According to the Law, if these students are found guilty they will cope twelve years in jail as stipulated by the Law.
Mature people accused of the same crime face twenty five years’ imprisonment .The judge in charge of the minors’ cases in Muhanga Court is called Mukansanga Bernadette
The judgment decision will be publically pronounced on 27,06,2013
