Many sad people accompanied the assassinated young girl Uwase Bella Shalom, a girl whose dream was to become a medical doctor. She was beheaded by a household servant called Mpore Sylvere in Nyamirambo sector.
Funerals started at 9h00 at Gakinjiro ADEPR church where friends and relatives of the late Uwase came to pray for her before going to Rusororo cemetery to bury her.
Witnesses from both her family, her school mates, and the Head master of the school lauded the love late Shalom had for people and the love she had towards the Almighty God.
The father of Bella , Mujiji Musafiri said that what is sad is not the death of his daughter but rather the way she was killed.
We, as Christians, know that there is life after death but what is sad is that she was beheaded, father Mujiji Musafiri said.
She intended to become a medical doctor after completing her studies but the murderer took her life before materializing her dreams.
At Rusororo where body of Uwase Simbi Shalom was buried, a lot of people were present to back the grieved family of the young girl Simbi Shalom.
Among the participants were many people who did not know the Bella’s family but came to support the family members.
One night before her death, she sung a gospel song and urged her mother to read in the Bible in 1 Peter 3:8-13, which reads “8.Finally, all of you have unity of mind, fellow feeling, brotherly affection, tender compassion, and humility 9 Do not pay back injury for injury or insult for insult. Instead, repay with a blessing, for you were called to this course, so that you might inherit a blessing. 10For “whoever would love life and see good days must guard his tongue from bad and his lips from speaking deception. 11 Let him turn away from what is bad and do what is good; let him seek peace and pursue it.12 For the eyes of God are on the righteous, and his ears listen to their supplication, but the face of God is against those doing bad things.” 13 Indeed, who will harm you if you become zealous for what is good?”
After reading this verse, many people cried as they heard this verse was left by late Uwase Bella Shalom to her Mother as a model verse to read.
Currently, Rwanda National Police continues its search to arrest Mpore Sylvere who killed Uwase and bring him to justice.
