This is what the Mayor of Gisagara District told local administration agents who gathered at one of local centers to discuss about the security issues prevailing in the district.
Mayor Karekezi Leandre reminded the assembly that in the previous years, insecurity issues have been successfully fought against through the implementation of security measures bur later on the number of mentally ill people kept increasing and this caused the security to worsen.
He said that after the establishing of the list highlighting the complete number of the all mentally ill people, the district in collaboration with its partners will learn on how to provide them with medical insurance.
This medical insurance will help them to get the medical treatments from the CAREAS Ndera, psychiatric medical center.
Kimonyo Innocent, the representative of the Save sector in Gisagara told the gathering that in the previous years, a mentally ill person killed a child with an ax.
A similar situation happened in Nyanza where a person suffering the similar illness killed an other person.
The Governor of the South Province Munyentwali Alphonse reminded the assembly that the stability of the security issues are part of key characters of the modern Rwanda at an extent that foreigners visit Rwanda to learn from it.
For him security issues should be assessed as to prevent them from being deteriorated. During this meeting, officials discussed about how to prevent the criminals to use local water channels ( lakes, rivers…) to destabilize neighboring areas.
